Franchise Mode Still Feels Like a Side Project
Let’s be real — as someone who has been playing The Show since the early PS3 days, I’m disappointed by how static Franchise Mode has become. While MLB The Show 25 brought improvements to gameplay and visual presentation, the franchise side of mlb stubsthe game feels like it’s stuck in 2017.
What bothers me the most is that the mode lacks complexity. There’s no true contract negotiation system, no detailed revenue management, and no team chemistry that actually affects gameplay. You don’t really feel the tension of running a club—there’s no financial struggle, no real market dynamics, no scouting drama. You draft a guy, stick him in AA, and hope the progression engine doesn’t glitch.
Other games—like NBA 2K or Football Manager—have systems so deep, you can get lost in just managing a team. In The Show, it’s like the developers stopped short. Where’s the owner goals system? Why can’t we deal with real injuries that affect contract negotiations or team morale?
I know Diamond Dynasty pays the bills, but Franchise Mode deserves love too. Not all of us want card-collecting gameplay. Some of us are here for the grind of a full rebuild. And right now, it just doesn’t deliver the immersion we’re asking for.
